Vice President of Canada’s International Business University Visits ECUST​

       On October 14, Vice President Zhu Weihong met with Chris Fraser, Vice President of Recruitment and Strategic Partnerships at Canada’s International Business University (IBU), and Ms. Suping Zhao, Senior Advisor for Greater China. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on cultivating business talent and advancing internationalization.




       Zhu Weihong extended a warm welcome to the IBU delegation on behalf of East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) and provided an overview of the university’s recent achievements in discipline development, internationalization, and overseas educational initiatives. He emphasized that ECUST remains committed to an open approach to education and actively es deep collaboration with leading global institutions. He expressed his hope for practical cooperation with IBU in business education and multi-level talent development.




       Chris Fraser elaborated on IBU’s educational philosophy and distinctive strengths. As the first new independent non-profit university established in Ontario, Canada, in nearly 40 years, IBU is positioned as a “next-generation university,” emphasizing small-class teaching, personalized education, and close integration with industry. Its curriculum, jointly designed by corporate executives and academic experts, is closely aligned with global business trends.

       During the meeting, Peng Zeyu, Director of the International Office of the Business School, shared the school’s achievements and ongoing initiatives in international education, highlighting progress in joint training programs, international accreditation, and the development of a global partnership network. The two sides reached preliminary agreements on student exchange, joint degree programs, faculty visits, and research collaboration. They also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) following the meeting, laying a solid foundation for comprehensive, multi-level cooperation in the future.

       Also present at the meeting were Chen Feng, Dean of the School of Continuing Education, and Tang Jimin, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.
