Vice President Zhu Weihong warmly welcomed the delegation. He pointed out that since the establishment of the East China University of Science and Technology - Sibiu Sino-European International Business School in 2018, the cooperation between the two universities has steadily progressed, achieving a leap from non-degree training programs to graduate diploma programs. Over 200 high-level business professionals from Central and Eastern Europe have been trained, making it an important model for Sino-Romanian educational cooperation and cultural exchanges. Zhu emphasized that the collaboration between the two universities is a concrete practice of responding to and supporting the national strategy for the international opening of education and also injects university strength into deepening Sino-European comprehensive strategic partnerships. At this new starting point, the two universities should, based on the success of their cooperation in the business school, upgrade the cooperation model from a single-point breakthrough to a comprehensive integration. In terms of academic fields, cooperation should extend from a focus on business to include art design, digital media, foreign languages, and other interdisciplinary collaboration; in terms of cooperation content, it should expand from teaching to include research collaboration, student and faculty exchanges, and joint training; and by relying on the Confucius Institute at Sibiu University, they should initiate innovative language and cultural teaching pilot projects, jointly creating a new platform for Sino-European cultural exchanges that promote mutual understanding and people-to-people connections.
