On December 10th, a delegation led by Turdialiev Umid Mukhtaralievich, Rector of Andijan State Technical University of Uzbekistan, visited our university. Vice President Li Tao met with the guests in the Yifu Building, and the two sides reached a series of consensuses on establishing inter-university cooperative relations, carrying out teacher-student exchanges, and jointly building joint laboratories.
On behalf of the university, Li Tao extended a warm welcome to Rector Turdialiev and his delegation. He pointed out that ECUST has always adhered to open education and continuously advanced the in-depth and solid development of educational cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. The university is ready to work hand in hand with Andijan State Technical University, taking joint talent cultivation in the fields of chemical engineering, intelligent manufacturing and energy economics as a strategic pillar. It will systematically e cooperation such as reciprocal degree awarding, faculty and student exchanges, and joint curriculum development, so as to draw a blueprint and set an example for building a new pattern of all-round, multi-level and wide-ranging higher education cooperation between China and Central Asia.

Rector Turdialiev expressed his gratitude to ECUST for the warm reception and thoughtful arrangements, and spoke highly of the university’s outstanding achievements in engineering education. He introduced the history, strengths in academic disciplines and international cooperation profile of Andijan State Technical University. He noted that the Belt and Road Initiative has created historic opportunities for education cooperation between Uzbekistan and China. Given ECUST’s remarkable strengths in chemical engineering, intelligent manufacturing, energy economics and other fields, he looked forward to the early signing of an inter-university cooperation agreement between the two sides. The agreement will e two-way student mobility, joint research and tackling key scientific problems, and joint development of advantageous disciplines, so as to jointly enhance the international reputation of both universities.
Also accompanying the visit were Murodbek Sherboev Fozijon Ugli, Dean of the School of Information Technology at Andijan State Technical University, Li Zheqin, Chairman of Uzbekistan New Silk Road Education, and Mei Bin, General Manager, among others. Present at the meeting from ECUST were Wei Xing, Secretary of the Communist Youth League Committee, Wang Li, Vice Dean of the International College of Excellence Engineers, Li Bo, Director of the Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering Department of the School of Mechanical Engineering, and Zhou Haibo, Director of the Admissions and Alumni Office at the College of International Education, among other representatives.
