ECUST Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange

To solidly implement the internationalization strategic goals set at the 12th Party Congress of the university and lay a solid foundation for opening up a new situation in the university’s internationalization work during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) recently signed a comprehensive strategic cooperation agreement with the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE), jointly opening a new chapter in international education cooperation. Wang Huifeng, Vice President of ECUST, and Xia Jianhui, Deputy Director of the CSCSE, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. The signing ceremony was hosted by Li Xiaopeng, Dean of the School of International Education.



Wang Huifeng extended a warm welcome to the delegation led by Xia Jianhui, and introduced the university’s strengths in characteristic disciplines, scientific and technological innovation as well as talent cultivation, especially the specific measures and preliminary achievements in serving the national and Shanghai development strategies. She expressed the hope that both sides would comprehensively strengthen cooperation, innovate cooperation mechanisms, and contribute ECUST’s efforts to the high-level opening-up of national education.

Xia Jianhui gave a comprehensive overview of the Center’s five major work areas: the development of a full-chain service system for international students, capacity building to support universities in enhancing their internationalization, the building of the Study in China brand, the establishment of a service system for overseas-educated talents to serve the nation, and the overseas promotion of Chinese curricula. He expressed the hope that both sides would further expand the breadth and depth of cooperation with East China University of Science and Technology and improve the overall effectiveness of the study abroad service system.

Yu Haiying, Director of the International Cooperation Department of the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, Zhan Wangcheng, Deputy Director (in charge) of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges of our university, and other attendees participated in the meeting and signing ceremony.



About the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE)

Founded in 1989, the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange under the Ministry of Education is a public institution directly affiliated to the Ministry of Education (at the director-general level). It mainly provides services related to studying abroad, returning from overseas studies, international students studying in China, as well as international exchange and cooperation in education. Up to now, the Center has signed comprehensive strategic cooperation agreements with universities including Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wuhan University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Renmin University of China, and East China Normal University.
